Action
During the summer between junior and senior year in early June for two weeks I had to attend merit n order to complete my mathematics credit in order to graduate. The local merit center allows students to take summer courses in order to earn extra or needed credits for high school. Every morning, I would leave at approximately 7:30 am from my house to go to merit. While I attended Merit, I completed the second semester of algebra II. I decided to ride my bike to the merit center instead of driving in a car. This allowed me to increase my fitness level and learn more about where I stand as far as fitness goes. This was a trust exercise between my mother and I considering that I was riding into downtown by myself early in the morning for the first time.
Outcomes of this activity:
- Increased awareness of my strengths and areas for growth.
- Showed perseverance and commitment.
